European U19 championships 2020-2021 and 2020-2022 draws

The UEFA headquarters in Nyon staged the draw for the qualification rounds of the UEFA European Championship among players up to 19 years old of season 2020/2021, as well as 2020/2022.

Belarus U19 team, made up of players born not earlier than 2002, will play in group 2 of the qualifying round of the UEFA U19 European Championship 2020/2021. The «white-wings» will face opponents from Ukraine, Israel and Montenegro, and the matches of the mini-tournament will be held on November 10th, 13th and 16th, 2020 in Israel. The two best teams from each group, as well as the best squad from among those who took third places, will advance to the elite round, the matches of which will be held in March 2021. There will be 8 teams competing in the final tournament of the UEFA U19 European Championship 2021, which will be held in Romania.

Today, the draw for the first round of the new UEFA U19 European Championship, which will be held in the style of the UEFA Nations League, has also taken place.

The new two-year format replaces the existing one-season qualification system. The new format includes four rounds of mini-tournaments with promotion and relegation up untill the final tournament, which will be held in Slovakia in 2022 (team Slovakia will participate in the first two rounds of the qualification before moving to the final tournament as the host).

The European U19 teams were divided into three leagues: A, B and C.

Belarus U19 team, which will be made up of players born not earlier than 2003, will play in group C2 of the first round of the UEFA U19 European Championship 2020/2022. The «white-wings» will face opponents from Northern Ireland, Gibraltar and San Marino, and the matches of the mini-tournament will be held in Belarus on September 2nd, 5th and 8th, 2020. The best teams from each group of League C, as well as the best squads from the number of runners-up, will be promoted to League B. According to this system, four qualification rounds will be held from September 2020 to March 2022. The final tournament will be held in Slovakia in July 2022.
