Germany - Belarus. Before the match

 The national team is preparing for the final UEFA 2020 European Championship qualification match against Germany.

Tonight's pre-match training session of the team was held in the evening and lasted just over an hour. The emphasis was on running exercises and standards. The guys also did some passing excercises and played football. After the training session the pre-match press conference of our team followed. Mikhail Marhel answered questions from reporters in the company of defender Aleksandr Pavlovets.

All 23 called up players are preparing for the match.

The upcoming match will be the third in the head to head history of the national teams of Belarus and Germany. In 2008, the teams met in a friendly match in Kaiserslautern and failed to find the winner - 2:2. Two goals for the Belarus team came from Vitali Bulyga. In June of this year, the teams played in Borisov as part of the European Qualifiers for the UEFA EURO 2020: the guests were stronger - 2:0.

Жребий неоднократно сводил наши страны на клубном уровне. Первое свидание белорусских и немецких клубов на евроарене датировано 1993 годом. В 1/16 финала Лиги Чемпионов минское «Динамо» встречалось с бременским «Вердером». В гостях «динамовцы» были биты 5:2, а дома сыграли вничью 1:1. Через 2 года минчанам вновь выпал бременский «Вердер» - правда уже в 1/16 финала Кубка УЕФА. И вновь белорусский клуб не сумел пройти дальше - поражение 5:0 в гостях и домашняя победа 2:1. Самыми памятными для отечественных болельщиков остаются встречи борисовского БАТЭ с «Баварией» и «Кёльном». 2 октября 2012 года «жёлто-синие» добились сенсационной победы над звездным клубом из Баварии - 3:1, а 19 октября 2017 минимально обыграли дома «Кёльн» - 1:0.

The draw has repeatedly crossed the paths of our countries at club level. The first fixture between the Belarusian and German clubs on the European arena dates back to 1993. In the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Champions League «Dinamo-Minsk» met with the «Werder Bremen». Away the Minsk side were beateb 5:2, and at home the game ended in a draw 1:1. In 2 years «Dinamo-Minsk» once again faced «Werder Bremen»  - but this time in the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Cup. And again, the Belarusian club failed to advance to the next round - a 0:5 loss away and a 2:1 home win. The most memorable for domestic fans are the meetings of BATE Borisov with «Bayern» Munchen and «Cologne. On October 2th, 2012, the «yellow-blue» achieved a sensational victory over the star club «Bayern» - 3:1, and on October 19th, 2017 they beat «Cologne» by a close margin - 1:0.

Tomorrow, Anton Chichkan and Dmitri Bessmertny can make their debut for the national team, and Aleksandr Martynovich can register his 70th cap in the «White Wings» T-shirt.

The upcoming match Germany - Belarus will be held tomorrow at the «Borussia Park» stadium and will start at 22.45 Belarusian time. The game will be broadcast live on the «Belarus 5» TV channel.
